Agreed on so many of your points, Mr. Redlich. The only issue I’d raise is, that if kids spend a lot of time on computers or watching tv, maybe they’re not getting enough exercise. I love that my daughter can click & drag with the best of them, but I worry about enough physical activity as well.

By the way, I did vote for you, and I truly believe if there were more people who thought like you in public office, NYS would be a better place to live.

You think employers are going to keep up their share if any individual citizen (like say, a person who runs a company and employs people) don't have to pay into the system?

This is a terrible idea.

And what do you do for a living "Ray"? I bet it's something very lucrative, like internet blogging, or opinu-tainment show hosting where you tell states to secede because the federal government is trying to enslave it's people by making sure they don't have to pay 70,000 dollars for surgery or will have a retirement fund because they paid the taxes to have it.

This blog is bad and you should all feel bad.

In the UK which is held up as a universal healthcare/single payer success story citizens pay not only a high tax for this coverage but then buy private health insurance so they can get good care. It's called Bupa. You can check their web site. I am sure they will be happy to open business here when we get sick of waiting for health care. There is also the "bribe" system popular in many countries w/ a single payer system where people who can afford it or who are just desperate bribe officials to move up the waiting lists to get medical care.

Great question Barbara. Yes, I would want the job. In today's New York State, cost cutting is job #1. There are certainly other aspects to it, but if we don't cut the spending, the state is going to go broke.
Putting another Republican up who spends like a Democrat will just make things worse.
